The Dell PERC 5/E Raid Controller Card is A PCI-Express serial attached SCSI (SAS) controller that provides ultimate performance, data protection and scalability for external SAS raid applications.

This card is exclusively for use with connecting a Dell Powervault MD1000 external storage array with a host server for a direct-attached storage connection. This card is NOT required if daisy-chaining a PowerVault MD1000 to an MD3000 enclosure.

Requires an open PCI-Express (PCI-e) slot in the host server.

Requires mini-SAS cables to connect to the PowerVault MD1000 enclosure.
